Microsoft Powerpoint Assignment

This assignment was done in groups of three. With this assignment we learned a variety of different and important skills. Powerpoint is a presentation program used for many different purposes. We learned how to transition between slides, add pictures and clipart, integrate video, embed and link charts and graphs, and build a presentable piece that can be run on its own.

The file can be found at http://www.mediamax.com/adammandelbaum/Hosted/PowepointVideoF.wmv and is best viewed using the latest version of Windows Media Player which can be found here http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/AllDownloads.aspx?displang=en&qstechnology=.

Microsoft Word Assignment

This assignment was also done in groups. Word is the most used program of the Microsoft Office family, and the skills we learned using this program will be used in our school, work, and personal lives. We learned how to insert page breaks, use the margins effectively, insert pictures and clipart, and generally build a professional and aesthetically pleasing document.

The 2007 version can be found at http://www.mediamax.com/adammandelbaum/Hosted/bsys%20word%20assign.docx and is best accessed using the Mozilla Firefox web browser.

Microsoft Excel Assignment

This assignment was the most difficult of the three projects assigned to our group. We were responsible for creating a professional business model using formulas, different referencing mechanisms, calculating interest and payments, and graphing information from well organized charts. The skills we learned here can be used in personal and business oriented finances, and is an extremely important skill needed to organize financial information.

Facing the Dragons: Lessons from the Den

On November 28th, 2007, I attended a great speakers event presented by BCIT's Applied Research Liaison Office. This was a completely free event aimed at BCIT faculty and students with entrepreneurial ambitions. It featured a number of great keynote speakers including Sean Wise. It was an extremely informative event, and really got my mind thinking about success, and how I am planning on achieving it once I graduate from BCIT's Marketing Management program.

For more information on the event , as well as an overview of all the speakers, please visit http://www.bcit.ca/appliedresearch/facingthedragons/.
